The TV market is absolutely sprawling with tonnes of different brands to choose from, but who’s dominating the market right now? And who’s winning the TV tech race this year?
From Sony, Samsung, LG, TCL, and more, we’re taking a deep dive into what this year is going to look like for these brands, the innovative tech they’re unveiling, and our thoughts, all in one place.
Before going off to search what brand has the best 65-inch TV UK right now, or what TVs have the best colour range, here’s what each brand has to offer right now.
What’s the biggest TV brand right now?
Samsung is unsurprisingly the world’s biggest TV manufacturer in the world right now, with 18% of all TV purchases in the world being Samsung TVs. Yet Samsung is shortly followed by TCL, a Chinese brand that isn’t quite as well known in the UK.
Top 4 Biggest Knockout TV Brands
1. Samsung TVs
Samsung is constantly at the forefront of TV tech, with great user interfaces, and even better picture quality, and this year they’re going bigger than ever.
Samsung’s Micro-LED 4K TV is soon to be released worldwide; with a better colour range than QLED and refresh rates that are just as good as OLED TVs, it’s sure to change the face of the 4K TV market.
Samsung is constantly innovating; even their older TVs are yet to be caught up to by their competitors.
Alongside their latest releases, Samsung has a plethora of affordable, fantastic TVs that are great for most budgets, so if you’re looking for an incredibly solid TV this year, Samsung might just be your go-to.
2. TCL TVs
TCL, while not being as well known in the UK, regardless, has some amazing deals on QLED tech TVs.
Their TCL 55C725K 55” TV is an absolute steal right now, despite not having the greatest refresh rate for gaming.
They’ve also got some very affordable Mini-LED TVs, a relatively recent technology to reach the TV market that gives QLED a run for its money.
The TCL 55C825K for example is a stunning new mini-LED that is the perfect centerpiece for your lounge.
3. Sony TVs
Sony is known far better for its console market dominance with the PlayStation 5, one of the best-selling consoles of all time, yet Sony’s BRAVIA TVs deserve equal acclaim in our opinion.
Optimized for gaming, Sony’s TVs have consistently great refresh rates, especially their BRAVIA X90J hits up to an astounding 120 Hz (which paired with the PS5 is an absolute blast).
Later this year we’re seeing a wave of QD-OLED TVs from Sony, the XR-55A95K being the absolute flagship, which is certain to decimate the competition, but it’ll set you back a few grand.
4. LG TVs
Finally, one of the most popular brands in the UK, LG is yet another incredible brand that you should definitely keep your eye on. LG has hundreds of amazing 4K TVs that are not only of great value but are also state-of-the-art.
This year, for example, we’ve already seen the release of the LG 50UQ91006LA 50” smart TV, with a 120 Hz refresh rate for a great price.
Later this year, LG is releasing a range of Mini-LED TVs that are set to release soon. LG’s QNED91 has recently dropped alongside the unfathomably good QNED95, an 8K TV that truly tests the limits of Mini-LED tech.
Regardless, LG remains at the absolute forefront of the TV market alongside Samsung and is a force to be reckoned with. If you’re looking for the absolute cutting-edge, you cannot go wrong with an LG TV.
